GROW YOUR OWN
Our state-of-the-art Research & Development facility has been specifically designed to trial new crops for alternative markets, test new technologies and explore everything in between to optimise our growing system. Like our main commercial farm, our R&D facility is kitted out with sensors to capture, track and analyse growing data.
Securely nestled within our Clapham site, our R&D facility is covered under the umbrella of the BRC, Red Tractor and M&S certifications that we have achieved. That means that we always keep to the highest possible hygiene and safety standards, making it perfect for corporate and research trials alike.
With six years of growing experience and all of the data that comes with it, we understand exactly how to turn seeds into greens. We have a wealth of experience trialling an exotic variety of crops, some of which have never been grown in this way before. These crops can be used within different industries, including extracts for the cosmetics market or ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry. Find out more here.
We are offering other businesses the opportunity to trial any natural products used within their own supply chain. We can manage the whole growing process for you, from seed to harvest, or we rent out space for you to try it for yourself. We have already been involved in some really exciting projects and worked with some of the leading companies in a whole range of industries.
We are always looking to partner with universities and government bodies to develop new innovations across the industry. We offer access to our data, R&D expertise and a dedicated professional team. If you are interested in working with us on this basis please do get in touch.
For example, we are working with Nottingham Trent University with support from Innovate UK to test the yield increase of pulsing UVA onto the plants, as well as the application of ozone gas combined with nanobubbles to clean water, seed and air without the use of harsh chemicals.
It’s great to be able to explore outstanding research avenues knowing that ZCF will use our inputs for actual commercial application.
